GE Sweden, ett svenskt bolag inom driftsenheten GE Aviation och ett dotterbolag till General Electric, har på tisdagen lämnat ett kontantbud om 285 kronor per aktie för samtliga aktier i Arcam som tillverkar maskiner för additiv tillverkning, även kalla 3d-printing.

I höstas varslade det GE-ägda, göteborgsbaserade 3D-printaktören Arcam 90 personer om uppsägning, till följd av pandemins slag mot flygbranschen. Nu varslas ytterligare 60 personer och nu planerar GE för en flytt av den svenska produktionen till Tyskland. Arcam EBM ingår i GE Additive-familjen och är världsledande på tillverkning av 3D-skrivare för metallprodukter.
